Understanding Section 67B Of The IT Act, 2000<\/span><\/h2>\n

(a) publishes or transmits material in electronic form that depicts children engaged in sexually explicit acts or conduct;<\/span><\/p>\n

(b) creates, collects, seeks, browses, downloads, advertises, promotes, exchanges, or distributes material in any electronic form depicting children in obscene or sexually explicit conduct;<\/span><\/p>\n

(c) facilitates abusing children online or induces them to engage in sexually explicit acts online;<\/span><\/p>\n

(d) records or stores any such obscene content involving minors for commercial or non-commercial purposes\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n

Shall be punished with imprisonment of up to five years and a fine of up to ten lakh rupees (\u20b910,00,000). In case of a major crime, the punishment increases to seven years of imprisonment and a fine of up to ten lakh rupees.<\/span><\/p>\n

Function of Section 67B<\/span><\/h2>\n

The function of section 67B is like:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. This section mainly aims to prevent child pornography and sexual exploitation of minors in cyberspace.<\/span><\/li>\n
